Welcome to my blog!
Thank you for stopping by. Below you will find highlights and stories from my latest client work. I strive to make all of my sessions relaxing and fun and I pride myself on creating images that are joyful, genuine and beautiful.
I am an on-location portrait photographer living in Needham, Massachusetts. I serve families in the Greater Boston area! I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and am fully insured.
If you are a regular reader of my blog, you might remember Charlotte & Jack — two of the most beautiful and amazing twins ever. The first time I photographed them, they had just come home from the hospital, after having been born early at just 27 weeks! Their parents were just settling into life with babies and getting the hang of juggling everything that comes with raising twins. What a treat to see them now… six months older and also six pounds heavier! I’m not exaggerating when I sayread more
The clock is ticking… only a couple more days until the kids are out of school for the summer!! Although June is already half over, I thought it would be better late than never to post about some things to do this month (continuing my “Boston Adventures with Kids” series). One of our favorite things to do as a family is make a ‘summer bucket list’. We keep it on a huge chalkboard in our house and friends always comment and even add suggestions when they visit. Maybe this is a little too organized for “summer vacation”, but I’m a big list person and the kids love to check off the items as we do them!read more
The forecast did not look good the morning of this family’s photo session, but grandma was visiting from Canada and we really wanted to include her in the photos so we did not reschedule. At the last second, I told Mom, “Worst case scenario: bring the umbrellas!” And boy, am I glad I did.read more
We recently had to euthanize our 15 year old cat Riley. He was a rescue cat from Boston’s Animal Care and Control Shelter in Roslindale and was (IMO) one of the best cats on the planet. We got him right after we were married so he was with us through all the ups and downs of having three children over the last decade! He was sweet and loyal and soft and cuddly and we will all miss him so much!read more
I was so excited when I found out I would be able to take some of my clients to a local apple orchard this spring, while all of the blossoms were in full bloom! I knew I wanted to take this family in particular because they are always up for anything and there are acres upon acres to run and explore–perfect for a family with two young energetic boys!

It’s been a while since I’ve photographed this family… the last time, sweet little George had just been born!! Four and a half years later and look how big he’s gotten!! I met up with this fun crew at the Arnold Arboretum in JP for a late day family session. The light and weather were perfect and these boys showed no shortage ofread more
I don’t know what it’s like in your house, but when I tell my kids they are going to visit their cousins, an onslaught of squealing, shrieking and crazy bouncing off the walls immediately ensues. I suspect something similar happens for the family in the images below. These cousins were all together for Easter weekend and one of the moms invited me toread more
The moment I walked through the front door of this family’s home, I knew we were going to have a great session. These first time parents were as calm as could be and so in love with their sweet baby Caroline. Their house was full of great light and simple, elegant decor which made creating beautiful images an easy task. It also didn’t hurt that Caroline was cute as a button and very happy and alert for almost the entire session!

Although it is torrentially pouring outside my office window as I type this blog post, it is finally May and I do believe the fear of snow is behind us and there are lots of warm sunny days in the near future! As I drive around town I find myself completely distracted by all the amazing trees blooming in everyone’s yards right now (Yes, that’s me going 20 mph with my head hanging out the window). Fall is still my favorite season in Boston, but spring is definitely a close second!

I have been taking school pictures at Boston area preschools for the last five years and in that time I have created portraits of hundreds of beautiful little people. Despite the fact I have consistently received rave reviews from parents about the children’s images, I find that school administrators still have uncertainty about switching to a new photographer or walking away from traditional big box school portrait providers.read more
The last time I saw this family, their baby boy was just a a week old! How fun it was to come back to this awesome Back Bay apartment again to capture some new memories a full year later. I always love to see how much babies grow over their first year, but even more, I love to see how much couples transform into seasoned parents, at ease in their roles as Mom and Dad.

A lot has happened since I last saw this beautiful family. They moved to a new home and welcomed a second baby girl into their family!! I was so honored that they called me again to document this very special time in their lives.
Lila was beyond excited to introduce me to her new baby sister, Adeline Olive ( have you ever heard a better name? I believe she has a future as a famous author, with a name like that!)
Spring weather is just around the corner and if you’re like me, you’re looking forward to warmer temps and you’re itching to get outside and explore with your family. I wanted to share with you a few of our local favorite activities and hopefully inspire you to try something new this season. We are a family of five, including a 10 year old boy, an 8 year old girl and a 2 year old boy — and we all have very different interests! This wide age range can sometimes be a challenge, but these activities areread more
I met this Brookline family through my school portrait program a few years ago and am so happy that they have become a regular family client. They opted to have their photo session at home, which I loved because we were able to easily shift from posed photos on the front steps to candid shots on the backyard trampoline in just a matter of moments!

The culmination of having a photo session with a professional photographer is deciding which images to display around your home. The photos you choose to print and hang on your walls are the ones that will make you smile on a daily basis! I know what you’re thinking — “But, I just want the digital files!” I get it. When I hire a photographer for my family, I want them, too! But I can’t stress enough how much I want you to also have tangible items as a result of having a photo session with me.
That is why I am officially announcingread more
I’ll be honest with you, finding the perfect newborn or family photographer in Boston is a tough job. There are so many talented professional photographers in the area and such a variety of styles and personalities to choose from–selecting the right photographer for your family photos can be confusing and overwhelming. To help with your decision, I thought I’d let you know what you can expect if you decide to hire me for your family photo session.read more
I know it’s hard to believe, but not everyone is thrilled to get in front of a camera. This can be especially true for active young boys who have about a million things they’d rather do than sit for a photo session. I recently photographed a friend and her family, and as we prepped for the shoot, she worried out loud that her sons might not be the most cooperative subjects.read more
You might recognize this gorgeous couple from their maternity session I posted a couple of weeks ago. They were expecting their first baby and didn’t know if it would be a boy or a girl. I was convinced it was a boy, but sure enough, they had a beautiful baby girl.

The twin boys in this family attend a preschool where I take school portraits and I was honored to photograph their family last summer at one of their favorite stomping grounds (and mine!), the Arnold Arboretum.
My husband has a fraternal twin brother, so I have a soft spot for parents with twin boys. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is just how different twin personalities can be, and these sweet little boys were no exceptionread more
Meet Charlotte and Jack. You’d never know it by looking at them now, but they weighed just over 2 pounds when they were born at 27 weeks. After a very long and emotional couple of months, they are both finally home with their Mom & Dad, and are tipping the scales at over 12 pounds each!read more
No matter the season, there is always a gorgeous backdrop to be found at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, MA. But probably one of the most popular times of year to visit is around Mother’s Day, when the lilacs are in bloom. Lucky for this mom, she was 36 weeks pregnant in May and we were able to take advantage of the stunning flowers. It was t his couple’s first baby and they didn’t know what they were having. I guessed it was a boy ( spoiler alert, I was wrong…! Newborn session coming up on the blog next)read more
I’ve spent the last few days sorting through the thousands of images I’ve made over the past last 12 months in preparation for writing my annual “best of” blog series. It is never easy to choose just a handful of favorites because there are so many that I love. But is fun to sort back and relive every session and recognize the images that speak to me the most. And once I’ve made my choices, I love to see how my favorites look together and what themes arise in my work.

Before I became a photographer, I had this notion that I wanted to be a nurse. I have an old drawing I did when I was a little girl that says, “I want to be a nurse when I grew up so I can help people.” And after I became a mom, I thought quite seriously about pursuing a career as a labor & delivery or a postpartum nurse. Like many others, my experiences with the nurses before, during and after the delivery of my three children were, quite simply, amazing. These women play such an important role at a most vulnerable time in our lives. It feels like our birth stories aren’t complete without the mention of the wonderful nurses at our side throughout. For as long as I can remember, I have longed to have a career that was as fulfilling as being a nurse.
But I had to be honest with myself — I’mread more
One of the things I love about my job is that I’m sometimes connected with a family in one capacity and then given the opportunity to photograph some other aspect of their lives. In this case, my work taking school portraits introduced me to this gorgeous family of five. We chose the Arnold Arboretum, where they frequently go for walks together, as the backdrop for their family session.read more
