Natural, relaxed,

Fun

When I send out post-session surveys to my clients, the top three words they use to describe their session with me are natural, relaxed and fun.  I couldn’t have said it better myself!

My aim for every family session is not to set you up into a bunch of poses and force you and your kids to look at the camera and smile.  Quite the opposite, my goal is for you to feel comfortable and relaxed, like you’re hanging out with a friend (who just happens to have her awesome camera at her side).

Magical Moments

Real Memories

No need to worry about feeling awkward in front of the camera or nervous about your children behaving.  I am a mom of three and relating to kids of all ages is my specialty.  I’ll provide helpful advice in terms session flow and poses that aren’t forced and awkward.  Then we’ll run around and play and do whatever comes naturally.  There are no rules, just gentle guidance from me about where to go and what to do.   Your job is to just play and hang out with your kids — I’ll capture the love and connection in your family in a beautiful and artistic way.

Pricing & Packages

Family sessions typically last one hour and take place in any location, including your home, backyard, a local park or one of the many outdoor locations in the Boston area.

Sessions are kept relaxed and natural with minimal posing or props.  Children are able to run, explore, and ask questions, etc.  I will take a nice variety of posed and candid shots during the session and will be sure to include any of your specific shot requests. Pets are always welcome to join… they are part of the family, too!!

I capture and edit dozens of images from our time together and provide an online photo gallery for your review. I’m happy to join you for an in-person consultation to assist with decisions, design albums or create wall galleries.

Package Prices
My family session fee is $350. Prints, products and digital files are purchased separately.

A pre-session consultation via phone is included in your session fee, during which we can discuss location, wardrobe and your vision for the session.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I schedule my family session?

Family sessions usually take place on weekends. I aim to do them in the morning or late afternoon when the light is just perfect for amazing photos. With the exception of Fall, my schedule is fairly flexible. Clients interested in Spring dates can rest assured that we will always have a rain date scheduled as well.

Where will my session take place?

Family sessions take place at a mutually agreed upon outdoor location.  I have lots of favorite areas to suggest but am always happy to try new locations. I love photographing families in their backyard, the local park, a favorite neighborhood street or a special location.

How long does a session last?

Family sessions usually last about 45 minutes to an hour as kids tend to run out of attention after that time.  However, there is no fixed time limit on your session. I will take images until I feel I have captured the essence of your family.

What should we wear to our family session?

Choose clothing for your family that coordinates but doesn’t match perfectly.  Select 2-3 colors that complement each other and then add texture and layers when possible.  Feel free to bring items that have significance or meaning to your children such as a handmade outfit or blanket or a favorite lovey or toy. Incorporating these details will make your portraits even more unique and special to your family.
