It’s the last week of February and the dreaded Polar Vortex is on it’s way to Boston. Again. March is just around the corner but spring doesn’t feel very close at all. I think it’s the perfect time for (more…)
It’s officially December (almost officially winter!) and as I sit and gaze out my office window it is dark and dreary outside. I just needed a ray of sunshine to warm me up so I decided to highlight some images from one of my favorite mini-sessions this past fall.
On the October afternoon when I had my mini-sessions, so many trees in the Arnold Arboretum were already completely bare! I was panicking a little bit until I found this one little tree with gorgeous orange and red leaves. It made the perfect backdrop for fall family portraits!
Fun in the sun week continues with another beautiful foursome. This family exuded so much warmth and happiness, from mom’s infectious laugh to the undeniable pride in dad’s eyes, what a pleasure this session was.
Everyone around, love them, love them
Put it in your hands
Take it, take it
There’s no time to cry
Put it in your heart
Where tomorrow shines
Gold and silver shine
When I was looking back at the photos of this family’s mini session, the REM song Shiny Happy People suddenly popped into my head. This family is what shiny happy people is all about. and I had so much fun photographing them. It didn’t hurt that we had an abnormally warm October day in Boston. Toss in some beautiful fall scenery and it’s pure magic!!

I grew up with one brother and a few cats. OK and maybe some fish, a rabbit named Seymour, and at one point, a pet mouse named Sugar. Don’t ask.
