There is nothing more rewarding than being invited into a family’s home to capture one of the most important times in their lives. And photo sessions are even more amazing when
my clients have an unique eye for design and their personalities show through in every detail of their home. I met this couple at their apartment in Boston on a beautiful morning in September. They had just welcomed their first baby into the world six weeks earlier — a boy named Gilbert. From the moment I walked into the door, I felt a sense of warmth and calm. These two are naturals at parenting, plain and simple.
Mom & Dad incorporated their love of travel into the nursery decor with posters from national parks they have visited. Dad even painted the walls to match the posters! I’m quite certain little Gilbert has so a lot of fun adventures ahead.
My very favorite kind of family portrait. Don’t forget the cats!
Dad has been reading to his son since he was in the womb. They are currently working their way through the Lord of the Rings! A love of reading can never start too early 🙂
Gilbert was a little fussy so he spent some time bouncing on the ball. This brings back such memories of when my own babies were little and I would bounce until my legs ached…
You really can’t go wrong with a fox and skunk by your side.
Although it is so difficult to choose, I think this is my favorite image from the whole session. I just love how Gil is tucked so snugly right under his mother’s chin. And the light! the light!! Dad is an artist and made the stunning pieces hanging all around the apartment. This is the absolute best part about having sessions at home — the images will never be replicated because they are so unique and so personal to your family..
