This might be one of my favorite newborn sessions to date. In fact, going forward it may actually be called the-one-where-I-fell-in-love-with-having-family-dogs-at-newborn-sessions…
Just look through these photos, you’ll see what I mean.
Sweet parents, adorable baby, adorable dog, it just goes together 🙂
I felt so comfortable with this couple right from our first conversation. I think part of the reason I felt a connection to them is that they named their first baby Lila Jane, which is so much like my own daughter’s name — Lillian Jane!
They admitted to me ahead of time that having their photo taken is not exactly their favorite activity in the world. I’m glad they told me this so that I could try to set their minds at ease. It is completely understandable to feel a little nervous about having a photographer come into your home for a couple of hours!
As much as possible, I try to help people feel relaxed around me, which translates into very natural images in front of my camera. I don’t just bomb into your house and start snapping away. I love to take time to chat and get to know my clients before I start photographing.
Unless you are a returning client, every home I walk into is foreign territory, but I really work so hard to be a quiet observer seeking to capture the reality of what is happening (in the best light possible!).
Thank you so much for trusting me and welcoming me into your home!!
