Earlier this year, I was at my friend’s annual Kentucky Derby party and she introduced to this family’s beautiful mama. We both happened to have on the biggest (and best, if I do say so myself) hats at the party — it was destiny that we should meet! We started chatting, one thing led to another, and the following weekend I was photographing her family at the Arboretum. We were lucky that the lilacs and a few other trees were still in bloom!
This was my first time photographing a family with FOUR BOYS. And they were everything you might imagine — energetic, adventurous, sweet, silly, a little rough and tumble, and did I mention energetic? I am certain it was the most calories I’ve ever burned in one photo session 🙂
Brotherly love. There were very few moments of sitting still during our session. Way too many rocks and walls and streams to explore! Show me your muscles! Although it’s hard to choose, I think this one is my favorite of the day… Mamas of four kids, especially four boys, deserve special medals of honor. I can attest that this woman is just plain amazing. She is funny and smart and warm and is doing a damn good job of raising these little men. They were truly some of the best behaved boys I’ve ever seen. It makes me so happy to give her these portraits with her boys.
Dad and the boys. This image pretty much sums up this family’s life right now!!
Thank you so much for inviting me to photograph your wonderful family!!
