The twin boys in this family attend a preschool where I take school portraits and I was honored to photograph their family last summer at one of their favorite stomping grounds (and mine!), the Arnold Arboretum.
My husband has a fraternal twin brother, so I have a soft spot for parents with twin boys. One thing that never ceases to amaze me is just how different twin personalities can be, and these sweet little boys were no exception.
One brother in this family was shy and took his time warming up, safe in dad’s arms, wearing his sunglasses like a little shield. The other was not shy at all, and his wardrobe wasn’t complete without stickers on his shirt and a stuffed polar bear in his hand.
There is so much life and love happening in the images from this session. I love the way these shots capture not just the boys’ unique personalities, but the love of these parents for their sons, so visible in a gentle touch and an adoring gaze.
These are the types of family portraits that will make us smile for years to come, preserving our memories — the quirky phases, the sweet, gap-toothed grins, and the favorite stuffed animals we couldn’t leave home without.
Making photos like these for families like this is the reason I get out of bed in the morning. Well that, and I have three kids yelling at me to wake up, but you know what I mean…. 🙂 These images are my heart.
Everyone together…. ” Awwww…”
