As a Needham Newborn Photographer, I photograph babies all year long, but there is nothing as special as the in-home newborn sessions that occur in the winter and early spring. Just recently, when meeting this sweet Needham family, I was reminded of *my* favorite memories as a mom ( all three of my babies were born during chilly weather!) – those toasty, snuggly, seemingly perfect cozy days at home with your new baby….the BEST!!
And that season has arrived here in the New England area once again.

This beautiful family of four just expanded to five with a baby girl – and she’s so adorable! Just 3 weeks old, I was thrilled to join the crew to capture one of their early days as a growing family.
Newborn sessions are my happy place. Visiting clients – returning and new! – in their homes is an experience of true connection. As a mom of three myself, I vividly remember the early days of each child coming home and integrating into the family. Even despite the sleep deprivation, the joy is immeasurable.
In-home newborn sessions capture a family in their element. I’ve met up with clients several years after we first met (through a newborn session, of course!) and they tell me: I love looking through the images from our first sessions and seeing how our home and family was at that time. Young, new, sometimes chaotic! Joyful. Precious. Many families have moved as their family expanded. Reflecting on the images is a trip down memory lane.
For this Needham family, the images will adorn their walls, be given as gifts, and be delivered to friends and family when holiday card season starts (like now!).
And never fear, in-home sessions are not nearly as overwhelming as one might think. But what if the baby is asleep!? What if I need to feed the baby? What if the baby cries!?
Yes, all of these things are going to happen. I’m really nice. I’ve done this hundreds of times. I know exactly how to help you prepare (it’s minimal!) and I go with the flow during our sessions.
The results will be glorious, I promise!!
