If you are a regular reader of my blog, you might remember Charlotte & Jack — two of the most beautiful and amazing twins ever. The first time I photographed them, they had just come home from the hospital, after having been born early at just 27 weeks! Their parents were just settling into life with babies and getting the hang of juggling everything that comes with raising twins. What a treat to see them now… six months older and also six pounds heavier! I’m not exaggerating when I say that the entire time I was at their home, I could not stop thinking how lucky I was to be there documenting their first year. Life is so fragile and these babies were born so early — they are truly little miracles and I sometimes can’t believe I get to witness such amazing and special things in my job as a photographer!!
When I arrived, Charlotte and Jack were just waking up from their nap. I love being there to capture the every day moments, from diaper changes to bottle feedings to eating solids at the table. Next session, I’d love to include bath time, too!!
According to Mom & Dad these guys are usually full of smiles and giggles, but they were so serious the morning I visited. They just weren’t sure about this strange visitor with a camera. We tried everything to make them laugh, including belly kisses, singing, dancing… all to no avail.
It’s OK though, I actually love these serious wide-eyed stares. How sweet and innocent are these faces?
I can remember when our first son was born and he was around this age. We would sit in his room and just watch him play for hours. It was incredible to see him becoming his own little person right before our eyes. I think these photos are my favorites, mom and dad just sitting and watching their babies interact.
Thank goodness for modern inventions like the double boppy… making mealtime so much easier (not to mention cuter!)
