The cyclical nature of every year is so fascinating, especially for New Englanders, who weather such a variety of seasons!
As a mom of three, including two teenagers, it’s common for my annual “change of season” emotions to occur every September with the beginning of a new school year. But, as a photographer, I can’t help but notice that spring brings a true sense of renewal.
Arnold Arboretum Family Portraits
The buds had arrived in Boston and the flowers were popping at this Arnold Arboretum Family Session. My clients, who were first time parents, lucked out with the perfect weather day. We met up on a weekday morning when foot traffic was low, so we had the place to ourselves.
I couldn’t help but think about all the “firsts” this family was encountering since their precious boy arrived. While the New England winter was mild this year, surely this family had enjoyed a first snowfall and a first holiday season.
A first Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are on the horizon, and the big milestone of a first birthday will follow. These events are so precious when a child is young. I’m grateful to be called upon to capture the early days.
What a face! This image makes me chuckle every time I see it. Will it do the same in the years ahead for Mom and Dad? I hope so.
These images scream “Mother’s Day Gift”, don’t you think?
A blissful day in a blissful life. Thank you to all my spring clients! I look forward to the renewed energy of this season every year.
