The warmer days for fresh air have come and gone in New England. Never have I ever been so grateful for the summer and fall months. How about you?
As winter arrives in full force and I spend hours reviewing recent sessions to create personalized albums for clients (yes, they give them as holiday gifts!), I can’t help but notice the one theme that matters most this year: LOVE.
Family Photographer Boston
No matter what 2020 has thrown our way, I’m so grateful to have chosen photography as my life’s work. This year has been eventful, to say the least, and it will have a lifelong impact on me, my family, my community and more.
I’m well aware that, even in the most difficult of times, I’m so lucky to spend every day capturing moments of life that evoke emotions that help us persevere through these long months.
First-time parents, newborns, siblings and pets: We’re all sharing ourselves in ways never done before.
Siblings sitting together to look at a book, quiet time with a pet, solitude in one’s bedroom.
Now more then ever, the simple moments matter the most, right?
As we head into what might be the most isolating winter ever, I hope you’ll find PEACE in your home and community. To my treasured clients, both long-time and new, I hope you’ll reflect on the images we captured this year and see their essence: LOVE finds a way.
Thank you, as always, for your friendship and support.

While we didn’t choose it, 2020 has been – for me – the Year of the Refresh. When everything about my business and life came to a halt in March, I wondered what would come next. What would I do about the sessions I had booked the following week, or month? What about my long-time client who was due in May? What about the pre-school photo days and anticipated maternity sessions? Was my business and passion going to collapse overnight?
It didn’t. In fact, 2020 has been the busiest and most exciting time of my career. Despite all the changes, it’s given me the clarity and confidence to keep growing: as a person, mom, wife and photographer. Thanks to the chaos of this year, I know who I am, what’s important to me (see my T-shirt), and what makes working with me an experience you’ll treasure. Read on to learn more.
When you hire me, you’ll see and feel each of those values in your images. In an instant, your images become keepsakes.
When people ask me about my approach to Boston Family Photography, one word comes to mind: Authentic.
My goal in every session – whether it be with parents-to-be, a newborn and first time parents, a growing family, a family with older kids or the fantastically fun extended family sessions – is to capture the authentic emotions, relationships, and environment at that very moment in time.
Your images are not poses. Your home is not a prop. Your life is yours. I am there to cement that moment in your history.
You know what I am here for?
To capture JOY.
I want you to see and feel joy and love and connection when you reflect on your images. I want you to see the personalities of each person (and maybe a pet!) in the image. I want your image to speak to you, because that’s the only audience that matters.
Oh, I know you want to share your joy. I do, too! As a mom of three, I know how much I love to show off my kids and their adorable smiles, pouts, snuggles and more.
Thanks to more than ten years working with my camera, I know how to effortlessly capture the images you want in frames, on walls, in books, and on your cards. I know how to choose a location that offers the opportunity to photograph playful smiles at one spot, but frame-worthy art ten minutes later.
When your images arrive, you’ll appreciate the many, many different styles of images that I’ve taken in just a short time. You’ll save them all, framing the most precious and perhaps creating an album of the rest.

Love. Joy. The exhilarating – maybe partly from exhaustion! – feeling that your new child has arrived. There’s nothing like it.
Cementing that feeling through authentic images is what I do. It’s what drives me to my camera every day.
And it’s why I won’t let today’s challenges prevent me from capturing those moments for you. I know how to successfully – and safely – photograph your new family from afar. And I know you’ll adore the results.
Boston Outdoor Newborn Photography
Yes, usually newborn sessions are held indoors. Usually I’m up close to you and your newborn, maybe even a sibling or pet! I used to touch some items, like the beautiful blankets that often arrive as gifts or the adorable stuffed toys that add fun to a photo.
But trust me, none of that close-up positioning or staging is necessary to create images that illustrate the amazing early days after a birth.
Reminiscing about what it was like being pregnant with a baby or about the day a child was born is a conversation that happens time and time again in so many families. Maybe you’ve had it with your grandmother or your parents? I know I have. I was born on December 20th, which was actually a week past my expected due date. My mother loves to tell me how there was “NO WAY she was spending Christmas in the hospital” and so she willed me to finally come into the world just in time to make it home for the holidays. (Thanks Mom for helping me not having a Christmas Day birthday!)
Like so many other major milestones, we remember some details, some emotions, hopefully all the basic facts. But do we remember everything? No. It’s simply not possible. Do we remember what’s important? Hopefully. Often, people remember specifics because they’ve seen them many times. Why?
Because they were photographed.
Boston Baby First Year Photographer
Ask any family that takes the time to host a family photo session and they’ll tell you that it’s worth every dollar. I love hearing from my clients who truly value the chance to reflect on images that capture their family relationships at a once very special moment in time.
But what if you could chronicle time? The trend is increasing. Perhaps you’ve seen some viral social media posts that show a person or child in the same pose many years in a row. Eventually, looking back on the growth and changes is amazing, right? It’s a time capsule of life.
My Belly to Birth and Birth to Birthday packages aim to accomplish these two fantastic photography goals. I want to capture your story in images, and truthfully, a family’s story is told over many days, not just one. And the best part? I do all the work.
I love seeing my clients regularly. Being privy to the way people inherently evolve after the birth of a child is such an honor. I’m grateful that they have confidence in me to document their experience of creating a family. Like every single one of my photo sessions, I’m present behind the scenes. I’m quietly snapping images. I don’t care if you showered, dressed fancy, or cleaned the dishes.
I’m here for you.
One year later…..

I was so thrilled to hear from Saachi’s parents that they were welcoming another baby. The family had relocated to Needham from San Francisco just over a year ago when I met them for our first photo session. Saachi was just about a year old when we first met for our family photography session. And she was simply gorgeous.
Needham Newborn Photography
A year later and she’s grown — and Niam has arrived! Returning to see this family for a Needham newborn photography session was the highlight of my day. Take the time to scroll through this entire session. You’ll see Saachi is just as gorgeous as ever, even when she’s not feeling 100% like her lovely self.
Six days old.
No words really can describe the emotions that come along with simply just being in the presence of a baby that small. So new. So tiny. So precious.
It really is just the beginning.
Niam is adored already, of course. It was fantastic weaving in and out of the home snapping images of him as his family showered him with love.
Saachi was really hesitant during our session. Not even two years old herself, she was under the weather and likely overwhelmed with all the changes that were taking place in her home. Mom and Dad took it in stride, however. Having worked with me before, they knew they could trust that I’m in no rush. Our session is not formal. It is not posed. No one needs to be perfect and perky.
You’re empowered to Just Be.
And so she was. Isn’t it fantastic to have captured a series of images showing the connection between Saachi and her father? She needed some one-on-one attention. Some peace and calm. I am so glad I trailed them very quietly. Aren’t these images real?
From there, the family came together. And the keepsake images happened. Mom emailed me to tell me they are thrilled with the images, which pleases me so much.
I love this session, not only because the family is so kind, but because it validates my belief that it’s always worth investing in a photographer you trust. I understand how to stay back and be a fly on the wall while capturing your moments without stressing everyone out. I have three children, too, so I understand the personalities and nuances that come in any family situation.
It is always worth the investment.
Welcome, Niam. You lucky, lucky boy.
