Home. The place you’ve chosen to spend the most important hours and minutes of your days, with people who matter the most. While I love photographing families outside in the gorgeous seasons we experience in Boston, in-home sessions really are a favorite. Home is where your family becomes, well, a family. Photographing life together – in that home – is perhaps the perfect way to freeze time.
Is there anything better than the glow that is ever-present on a new parent’s face the days, weeks and early months following the birth of a child? Is there anything better than walking into someone’s home and being embraced into the pure joy they’re experiencing? So many reasons to love be a newborn family photographer.
Don’t worry, this post isn’t filled with the standard cliches about “the days being long but the years are short.” However, when my oldest turned 13 and my youngest hit preschool the metal pan hit me *smack* on the head. Hard. The cliches – no matter how boring – are correct. Time is flying, and my kids are changing nonstop. So are yours.
I *love* being a Boston newborn family photographer. I love it so much that I left a thriving corporate career (and its predictable salary) years ago to live a life fulfilled by my passion: using my training, skills and talent to capture images of babies, children, parents and families that go well beyond your standard pose-and-smile-then-point-and-click.
Pure Perfection. That’s how I felt when I left this photo session, my third time connecting with this fantastic family who just welcomed their second child, Eloise.
The holiday season brings gifts in all shapes and sizes, but for this special family, they got an amazing gift. Not one, but TWO boys! I was so happy to meet up with their home just outside Boston, MA to capture their newborn session for their twin newborn boys.
Introducing Baby Quinn! On a gorgeous fall day in Boston, I got to meet this precious little one. Mom got in touch with me to schedule this newborn session for their two week old baby girl. Quinn was their first baby, and Dad was soon going to be deployed to Afghanistan. Mom wanted to be sure to get some beautiful family photos before he left.
In late December, this sweet family invited me to their home in Brookline, MA for a newborn photo session with their brand new little baby girl, Margot.
And just like that another year has come to a close and it’s time for my very favorite post: the “BEST OF” post!! I get to look back on all the wonderful memories I witnessed in the last 12 months and select my absolute favorite images of the year. This is never an easy task, but at least it’s getting easier as I get to include one additional image with each passing year! ( This year is the top 18 of 2018 )
Meet baby Lily! Just a few short weeks ago, I met up with this lovely family at their home in Wayland, Massachusetts to welcome their newest edition. Lily was just 13 days old at the time of her newborn session, and what a beautiful little baby she is!
