I always love to see returning clients, but I was a little more excited than normal to visit Charlotte & Jack for their one year session this past December! You might remember from reading my blog last year that these very special twins were born at just 27 weeks! I met them for the first time when they had just come home after being in the hospital for several months. But now they look just like any other one year olds — they are healthy and beautiful and have the most adorably chunky baby cheeks that you’ve ever seen!! And they’ve changed so much since their 6 month session, when they were just sitting up — now they are on the move, crawling and almost walking!!
I know from experience that first birthdays are bittersweet — you just can’t believe the first year is behind you. Some of the days were so hard (and so long!) but somehow the whole first year is over already?! How is that possible?? I can imagine it was extra bittersweet for this family considering all they went through in the first few months of their babies lives. I am so honored to have been there to document the first year and I can’t wait to put see their Birth to Birthday coffee table album in print!
When you have a family session in December, it’s always fun to grab some festive Christmas tree farm photos, don’t you think!? We started out this session meeting at our favorite local tree farm (which happens to be Boston’s last working farm!).
Afterwards, we headed back home, where the kids could relax and play for a bit.
“HELLO?? Is anyone there??”
Charlotte & Jack are starting to be old enough to sit still for a book!
So we were hanging out in Charlotte & Jack’s nursery in diapers ( you know, just the usual stuff ) and one of the most exciting things EVER happened…..
Charlotte took her VERY first steps!! The look on her mom’s face is just priceless. I had goosebumps it was so amazing to witness!!! GO Charlotte!!
Is there anything cuter than two naked babies toddling around the room?? No, there really isnt.
