Life-changing moments. We all have them, but we may not recognize that they’re happening in real-time. Sometimes it takes reflection – months or even years later – to say: Wow, my life changed that day.
Bringing a child into the world is almost certainly one of the biggest – if not the biggest – life change one can experience. And with several months to prepare, it’s a life change that deserves to be relished.
Boston Maternity Photographer
Congratulations! You’re weeks away from welcoming a new little human into your life.
Maybe it’s for the first time. Maybe not. Perhaps this is your miracle baby or your surprise baby.
Whatever your story, as a Boston Maternity Photographer, I am here to make sure it’s captured forever.
Here’s my promise to you. This is all about YOU.
As a mom myself, I know you’re about to enter perhaps the most joyful – but also selfless – time of your life. I want to help create visual memories of your life leading up to that moment so you can always reflect on your own personal evolution.
I can hardly believe I’m already sitting down on the last day of the year (and the decade!) to write my most beloved blog post of the year — the “Best Of” 2019! This post takes me an exceptionally long time to compile because I spend hours looking back at each and every session, reviewing all of the best moments from the past year, remembering each family and each story. It is always incredibly hard to choose my top images of the year.
This year, it feels more important than ever to choose the images that truly set me apart as a Boston family photographer. To be quite frank, any photography hobbyist with a good camera, or really any regular person with the latest iPhone, can take a decent photo these days. And as more and more photographers pop up in the Boston area, it feels crucial to express why I am not just good at taking standard family photos.
When you decide to have a photo session with me, you are investing in my years of experience with babies and children, my knowledge of light, my innate sense of composition and my unique point of view. You are investing in ME.

The following set of images is not a typical group of well composed, well lit photos of happy people looking into the camera.
Some of these images are split second moments that illuminate the essence of an environment, a season, or a personality, or an emotion.
Some of these images capture subjects in a unique and artistic way.
Some of these images tell beautiful and emotional stories.
All of these images are the ones that set my heart on fire.
These are my top 19 of 2019.

Spring is the season of growing and I loved that we were able to have this sunset maternity session at a local apple orchard in full bloom! (How apropos!)
I’m so lucky to call this beautiful mama-to-be my friend and neighbor — and she makes a pretty amazing maternity model, too! We had so much fun running around the apple orchard finding all the most amazing spots for pictures and staying until the sun dropped below the horizon. This session truly was one of my photographer dreams come true. Thank you Megan for being so awesome!
No matter the season, there is always a gorgeous backdrop to be found at the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain, MA. But probably one of the most popular times of year to visit is around Mother’s Day, when the lilacs are in bloom. Lucky for this mom, she was 36 weeks pregnant in May and we were able to take advantage of the stunning flowers. It was this couple’s first baby and (more…)
There is hardly anything more amazing in the world than being pregnant. Having experienced it three times myself, I also know there is hardly anything more uncomfortable, too. The aches and pains, the nausea, the constant NEED to PEE. The LACK of WINE.
Being pregnant is simultaneously the best of times and the worst of times.
It doesn’t seem possible when you’re in the midst of your pregnancy, but the memories of this time, both good and bad, do start to fade over time. After a while, you start to forget how (more…)
